Motorisation
Remote, wall switch or full home automation. Your windows, on schedule.
Motorisation turns window furnishings into part of your smart home. Wake to blinds that rise with the sun, shade the house automatically on hot Melbourne afternoons, and control hard-to-reach windows from your phone - no cords, no climbing. We fit whisper-quiet motors to new blinds, curtains and shutters, and can retrofit many existing ones. It is especially popular in two-storey homes across Craigieburn, Clyde North and Melbourne's new estates, where stairwell voids and highlight windows are otherwise out of reach.

Common questions
- How much do motorised blinds cost in Melbourne?
- Motorisation typically adds a per-blind cost for the motor plus the control option you choose (remote, wall switch or smart-home hub). Because every window differs, we quote exactly at your free in-home measure - call Peter on 0457 832 875 or Nav on 0458 618 767 and we will bring samples and working motor demos to you.
- Can my existing blinds be motorised?
- Often, yes. Many roller blinds and curtain tracks can be retrofitted with a motor, depending on the tube, bracket and fabric weight. Bring it up at your free measure and we will check on the spot.
- Do motorised blinds work with Google Home or Alexa?
- Yes - with a smart hub your blinds join your voice assistant and automation scenes, so you can schedule them, group them by room, or say the word and watch the whole living room close at dusk.
- What happens in a power cut?
- Battery-powered motors keep working through outages and recharge like a phone. Hard-wired motors pause during an outage and resume immediately after - and manual override options are available.
- Are motorised blinds child-safe?
- They are the safest option there is: no cords, no chains, nothing to tangle. That is why motorisation is our standard recommendation for nurseries and kids' rooms, alongside our child-safe chain systems on manual blinds.
